The Jewish Things I Do: Laws, Traditions, Customs & Me

The framework of Jewish Law was established so long ago– do these laws still speak to us today?

This course examines some of the ‘non-negotiables’ of Jewish law.

Together we explore crucial questions, including: how much does Jewish Law include my voice, and how do categories like ‘Pikuach Nefesh’ (Preserving Life) ground us in extraordinary moments, like the COVID 19 pandemic?

Sugar Or Spice And Sometimes Not So Nice? An Exploration of Ancestral Texts

The stories of the Matriarchs and Patriarchs are the origin stories of the Jewish people. Through Abraham & Sarah, Isaac & Rebecca, and Jacob, Leah, & Rachel, we see how each couple represented their own unique view.

According to Mussar there are three main relationships – with God, with each other, and with ourselves. This course will explore these stories through the lens of their relationships.

All of our Matriarchs & Patriarch were beautifully human, as we see their moments of victory and the times they miss the mark.

From My Heart To Yours: How I Offer You A Blessing

In Judaism, we are all empowered with the ability to offer blessings to each other.  Shaping a blessing is a personal thing, it reflects who we are and who we are blessing.

In this course, we will look at different constructs and forms of blessings, as well as the latitude for composing a blessing that speaks to both our Jewish and Western cultures.
